The Journey of Hazrat Musa (A.S.)

A Story of Courage, Trust, and Divine Mercy**

In the mighty kingdom of Egypt, where tall palaces cast long shadows over the poor, lived a ruler whose heart had turned to stone — Pharaoh. He feared losing power so deeply that he ordered every newborn boy among the Israelites to be killed. It was during this dark time that Hazrat Musa (A.S.) was born.

🌸 A Baby Protected by Allah

Musa’s mother was heartbroken and terrified. How could she save her precious child?
But Allah inspired her heart:

“Nurse him for a time, then place him in a basket and set him afloat on the river. Do not fear; We shall return him to you.”

With trembling hands but trusting Allah, she placed baby Musa (A.S.) on the Nile. The river carried him gently until the basket drifted near Pharaoh’s palace.

Pharaoh’s wife, Asiya (R.A.), a woman of great faith and kindness, found him. Her heart softened instantly.

“This child will bring us joy,” she said.

By Allah’s plan, Musa’s own mother was chosen as the wet nurse, and thus Musa (A.S.) grew up safely in the palace of the very man who wanted him harmed.

🏜️ A Turning Point

As Musa (A.S.) grew older, he felt deeply for the suffering of the Israelites. One day, he saw one of his people being beaten unjustly by an Egyptian. Musa (A.S.) intervened, striking the man to stop him — but the man died from the blow.

Musa (A.S.) was shocked and filled with regret. Afraid of Pharaoh’s reaction, he left Egypt and traveled far into the desert.

He reached the land of Madyan, where he helped two sisters by watering their flock when others refused. Their father, a wise old man, welcomed him into his home and later offered his daughter in marriage. Musa (A.S.) began a peaceful new life — but his destiny was still ahead.

🌟 The Divine Call on Mount Sinai

Years later, while traveling with his family, Musa (A.S.) saw a glowing light on Mount Sinai. Hoping for guidance, he climbed the mountain. There he witnessed a miracle: a tree burning with a light that did not consume it.

Then a voice called:

“O Musa! Indeed, I am Allah, the Lord of the worlds.”

Musa (A.S.) fell to the ground in awe.

Allah gave him two great signs:

  • His staff would turn into a serpent

  • His hand would shine with radiant light

Then Allah commanded:

“Go to Pharaoh. He has become arrogant. Guide him to the truth.”

Musa (A.S.) felt fear, remembering Pharaoh’s cruelty. But Allah reassured him:

“Do not fear, for I am with you. I hear and I see.”

🏛️ Standing Before Pharaoh

Musa (A.S.) returned to Egypt and, with his brother Harun (A.S.), went to confront Pharaoh.

Pharaoh mocked them, rejected their message, and accused Musa (A.S.) of lying. To challenge the truth, Pharaoh gathered the best magicians of the land. They cast ropes that looked like twisting snakes.

But when Musa (A.S.) threw down his staff, it turned into a real serpent and swallowed their illusion. The magicians fell in prostration.

“We believe in the Lord of Musa and Harun!”

Pharaoh was enraged, but truth had already touched their hearts.

🌊 The Escape and the Miracle of the Sea

Pharaoh only became more oppressive. Allah sent signs — floods, locusts, lice, frogs, and blood — yet Pharaoh’s heart remained hard.

Finally, Allah commanded Musa (A.S.) to take his people and leave Egypt.

Pharaoh pursued with a great army, and the Israelites found themselves trapped between the soldiers and the sea.

Panic spread.
But Musa (A.S.), trusting Allah completely, said:

“My Lord is with me. He will guide me.”

Allah commanded him to strike the sea with his staff.

The waters parted, rising like mountains on each side, and a path of dry land opened. Musa (A.S.) led his people safely across. When Pharaoh’s army followed, the waters collapsed, and Pharaoh was drowned in the very sea he had despised.

📜 The Revelation

After their escape, Musa (A.S.) returned to Mount Sinai where Allah gave him the Torah, a scripture of guidance, mercy, and law for his people. His life continued with many trials, yet he always turned to Allah with patience and firmness.

✨ A Poetic Reflection on the Journey of Musa (A.S.)

When the tale of longing and divine love was first ordained,
How the heart of Musa must have quivered when the call of Allah reached him.
When the light of the Eternal shone upon Mount Sinai,
Radiance must have swept the horizons, and even the shadow of darkness vanished.

When the devotion of the servant met the mercy of the Lord,
A wondrous ecstasy—deep, pure, everlasting—must have risen.
When Mount Ṭūr became a parchment, and the trees turned into pens,
Time itself must have stopped, as destiny was written by the Divine Hand.

At the unveiling of the Throne, the heavens must have swayed in awe,
And the earth too, lost in rapture, must have danced in silent intoxication.
